Where Seashells Meet Sleigh Bells: Highlights from Edisto’s 35th Annual Christmas Parade
It’s officially Christmastime on Edisto Island, and there’s no better way to welcome the season than with our beloved 35th Annual Christmas Parade! This cherished tradition once again brought the community together for a joyful celebration filled with creativity, connection, and plenty of holiday cheer.
This year’s theme, “Seashells & Sleigh Bells,” put a coastal twist on Christmas, inspiring parade participants to blend island charm with classic holiday magic. From beachy details and ocean-inspired décor to festive bells and lots of candy, the floats and entries perfectly captured the spirit of a seaside Christmas—Edisto-style.
Another Record-Breaking Turnout This Year!
This year’s parade was bursting with energy and excitement, featuring over 70 participants who filled the route with holiday spirit. The Charleston Locals C-10 Classic Truck Club returned in full force once again, delighting the crowd with their impressive lineup and festive flair. Each group helped spread Christmas cheer along the way—waving to spectators and tossing plenty of candy to smiling onlookers. And, of course, no Edisto Christmas Parade would be complete without a visit from the man in red himself. Santa Claus made his grand appearance at the end of the parade, bringing extra joy and holiday magic to children and adults alike.

Honoring Community Leaders
Leading the parade this year as Grand Marshal was Cubby Huffines, the proud recipient of the 2025 Martha Whetstone Service Award. Cubby was honored for his deep-rooted commitment to the Edisto community and his constant, uplifting presence across the island. Known for his tireless support of local events and organizations, he truly embodies what it means to serve with heart.

Carrying the parade banner was none other than the 2025 Business of the Year recipient Carolina One Edisto Real Estate & Vacation Rentals. Carolina One continues to set the standard for what it means to do business with heart.

In addition to our local Town Council, we were honored to have members of the Colleton County Council assist in leading the parade.

Parade Highlights and Winners
This year’s Parade Awards, sponsored by Dee and Joe Stalvey, were works of art in themselves, hand-painted by talented local artist Gerry McElroy. Congratulations to all the award winners who brought their A-game to embody the theme and spread holiday cheer.

Whether you rolled through the route in the parade or lined the sidewalks cheering it on, your energy and support are what made this year’s event so special. The Christmas Parade continues to be a beautiful reminder of what makes Edisto Island shine—the strong sense of community, shared traditions, and the joy that comes from celebrating the season together.
Looking Ahead
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Christmas Parade such a memorable success—our Edisto Chamber staff and volunteers, the Mayor and Town Council, the Edisto Beach Police Department, the Edisto Beach Fire Department and its dedicated volunteers, Robby Harrison and the Charleston Locals C-10 Classic Truck Club, along with the many groups and organizations who proudly participated. And, of course, thank you to the countless spectators who lined the route and brought the energy and cheer. This beloved tradition truly takes a village, and it wouldn’t be possible without your collective efforts. As we wrap up another wonderful holiday celebration, we’re already looking forward to what next year’s parade will bring.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us here on Edisto Island!
