Spring on Edisto is about more than just the beach — it’s about community, too! Mark your calendar for local favorites like the town play presented by Edisto Players, Hilda’s Yard, from March 19th to March 22nd, followed by the always-popular Edistonian Classic Car Show on March 28th. The Shops at Edisto will also host Swing Into Spring on April 6th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature new arrivals, raffles, and live music. It’s a festive way to see what’s new for the season while enjoying a lively evening out. On April 25th, head to the Edisto Marina to watch the exciting weigh-in for the Dolphin Slam Offshore Tournament! Nature and Free Family Fun
One of the best things about spring break on Edisto is how easy it is to fill your days with simple, no-cost adventures!
Botany Bay’s driftwood-lined shoreline and maritime forest trails offer space to explore and take in the quiet beauty of the coast. Edisto Beach State Park also has miles of nature trails perfect for family hikes and bike rides to enjoy the scenery and various wildlife that Edisto has to offer!
The Environmental Learning Center at Edisto Beach State Park offers interactive exhibits and touch tanks that bring the Lowcountry’s ecosystems to life. It’s an easy, engaging way to mix a little education into your beach week!


Jungle Road Park offers a perfect break from the beach, giving kids space to climb, swing, and burn off energy while parents relax nearby. Head to Bay Creek Park where you’ll find a scenic setting along the water complete with plenty of picnic space, fishing and crabbing docks. Beginning in April, the Bay Creek Market will be open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with various local vendors and artists!
Does your family have a competitive side? The Edisto Beach tennis and pickleball court is located near the intersection of Lee Street and Neptune Street. Town Hall has a portable pickleball net that can be checked out for free!
If your crew loves a little extra entertainment, keep an eye out for trivia nights, karaoke, and live music happening around the island. Be sure to follow the Edisto Insider Facebook group so you never miss what’s happening while you’re in town!
Make the Most of Beach Time
Plan a sunset walk by the Edisto Marina or choose a quieter beach access along Palmetto Boulevard for a peaceful evening stroll. For an extra memorable experience, consider heading out by boat to watch the sun dip below the horizon. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, as spring days bring more activity to the water!
Don’t forget to bring along a frisbee, kites, organize a soccer or football game, or host your own family sandcastle competition! Pack a bucket for shell collecting or join the “Edisto Rocks” Facebook page and search for painted rocks hidden around town!

Pedal or paddle your way through the Edisto scenery on bikes, kayaks, or paddleboards! There are several local businesses that have rentals available for everyone in the family!
Turn a few swings at the Edisto Driving Range into your own spring break version of Top Golf! Closest to the pin and longest drive are more fun at only $5 for a bucket of balls. The Edisto Driving Range is located near the state park at 404 Flowers Dr., Edisto Island, SC 29438. The Plantation Course at Edisto offers a beautiful backdrop to a great day of golf. Have children who want to play? The Plantation Course offers junior golfer rates. Fun for the whole family!
And if a Movie in the Park shows up on the spring schedule? We’d call that an instant evening favorite! Bundle up in blankets, bring snacks, and enjoy a perfect way to unwind with the family.
And of course, enjoy two of Edisto’s favorite pastimes: shopping local and gathering around the table.
Spring break is the perfect excuse to explore Edisto’s local shops. From coastal décor, beachwear, unique gifts, and handmade finds, shopping small on the island is part of the experience.
And when it comes to food, Edisto makes family dining easy. Get your morning started right with breakfast at Sea Cow or grab your favorite type of java from Marsh Moon Cafe. Then spend an evening enjoying seafood or crowd-pleasing favorites at one of the island’s local restaurants like Bluefin Cantina, The Waterfront Restaurant, or Pressley’s at the Marina. Don’t want to cook but want to stay home? Keep it simple with pizza takeout from Crust Station or catering from Edisto Catering Co., and a cozy movie night back at your rental. There are plenty of options to satisfy everyone at the table!
